Q: When is payment due for my order?
A: You can choose to pay for your order at the time of delivery, or, if you choose to pay with a credit/debit card, you will be charged at the time of ordering.
Q: If the heating oil prices go up before I receive my delivery, do I then have to pay more?
A: No, you will be charged the quoted price at the time you placed the order.
Q: Will I be charged any additional fees?
A: No, we do not charge any additional fees except from any applicable taxes.
Q: Do I need sludge treatment in my tank?
A: Fuel oil sludge treatment disperses sludge and emulsifies water in oil tanks to help eliminate burner breakdown, sludge formation and winter freezing. Discourages soot formation and helps conserve energy. Helps avoid breakdowns from clogged lines, strainers and nozzles. You can request sludge treatment at the time you place your order.
Q: Can I schedule a delivery for a specific time?
A: You cannot schedule a delivery time, but if you would like an estimated 4-hour time slot, you can call us on the day of your expected delivery. You can schedule your delivery to arrive on a specific day. Please note that because of oil prices constantly fluctuating, we can’t guarantee the same price if your chosen delivery date is over two business days away.
Q: How long is your delivery waiting period?
A: In most cases, all deliveries are completed the next day. If your order is placed before 9am, your order may be scheduled for the same day. However, delivery times may be affected by unforeseen circumstances (e.g. weather conditions). If delays occur, then we will contact you regarding your order.
Q: What weather conditions may cause my order to be delayed?
A: Poor weather conditions such as rain and snow etc. may cause delays for many reasons (e.g. an inability to enter your driveway due to snow and/or ice, if snow is blocking your driveway, we ask that you please clear a path to the oil tank). Lower temperatures may also cause an order to be delayed, due to an increase in demand for our service. We will always be sure to let you know of any delays.
Q: What happens if I’m not at home when my heating oil is delivered?
A: Normally, you don’t need to be home, as long as there is easy access to the fill of your tank. If you plan on paying with cash, please leave the payment somewhere that our driver can collect it.
Q: What if my tank takes less than the number of gallons I have ordered?
A: If this happens, we will charge you based on the number of gallons you receive. You’ll receive a refund within 3 to 5 business days. You don’t need to call us, the refund will be automatically issued. Please note, that your price per gallon will be adjusted if your tank takes less gallons.
Q: Why did I receive a lower quantity of fuel than what I ordered?
A: Heating oil tanks have a usable capacity that is slightly less than the tanks maximum capacity, and so the usual reason for receiving a lower quantity of oil than what you ordered is because your tank reached its usable capacity. When fuel is heated, it expands, and so this is why fuel tanks should not extend past the usable capacity limit to prevent leaks etc. Therefore, when the tank reaches its usable capacity, an alarm sounds and the driver is required to stop pumping the oil.
Q: What if I need an emergency delivery?
A: If you need an emergency delivery, please let us know at the time of ordering, and we will try our best to get your order to you on the same day. Please be aware that emergency orders may incur an additional charge.
Q: Can I cancel an order?
A: Next day orders can be cancelled by emailing us or calling our office. Same day orders cannot be cancelled as they get dispatched to the delivery trucks immediately after placing the order. If you need to cancel your order because another heating supplier has already filled your tank, please call us as soon as possible, as this can result in an accidental oil spill on your property if our delivery driver attempts a delivery. Cancellation fee will be applied to all same-day deliveries.
Q: What is your minimum quantity of discount oil available for delivery?
A: The minimum quantity available for delivery is 25 gallons.
